Titanium Apps to Check Out

by Scott Schwarzhoff on August 12, 2009

After we wrote about Chief Medical Officer recently winning at iPhonedevcamp, several folks pinged us to see what other mobile and desktop apps are available on the various app stores. We’re looking at about 40 Titanium apps in various stages of completion/submittal. Here are some that you can check out today (we encourage everyone to publish their new apps here: http://support.appcelerator.net/discussions/published-apps):

- 3 golf guide apps: shows short animated videos of every hole for 3 golf courses: The Gallery, Troon North, and DarkHorse. Dan (Podpro) notes “Now that I’ve got some smaller test apps accepted we plan to launch at least 10 major apps by years end.” Next time you head out for a round of 18 at one of these courses, be sure to pick up one of his apps and let us know how you fare.

- WeatherHere (Molecube) provides a nice GPS-enabled alternative to the standard iPhone weather app. WeatherHere pulls in forecast data from Weatherbug and delivers it in a 5-day summary view with clickable forecast detail:

- Bartolo Illiano submitted 2 Android apps to the app marketplace. Last News UK aggregates the news feeds from several top news sites and provides a mobile digest version for users. Televideo pulls in Italy’s national/regional teletext data into a compact mobile package.

On the desktop, Frank Cohen let us know recently that he launched PushToTest: “PushToTest is the open source application performance management and test automation platform. The TestMaker Editor is a graphical utility to orchestrate tests. The Editor makes TestMaker users more productive to configure tests.”
