Voting in the first Appcelerator Titanium Application Contest is now underway. At this moment, more than 15 applications are in contention for the two top prizes. If your application isn’t done, keep coding. New applications may be added through April 20.
We are relying on you, the Appcelerator Community to decide which two applications deserve Nolan and Jeff’s undying love, the prestige of being featured on the Appcelerator web site and the $500 (USD) stimulus money prizes.
Today’s posting is all about how to vote for your favorite applications. Read the contest announcement if you want a refresher on all contest rules.
Voting for the most downloaded application
Your download counts as a vote. It’s that simple. Each download on each platform increments the vote count and puts that application one vote closer to the most downloaded prize. We’ve even given you two great ways to download apps. First, download applications directly from the Apps Tab in Titanium Developer. Second, search Twitter for #titanium. All contest entrants have sent tweets that include the name of their app and a link to their “all platforms” download page.
Voting for the highest-rated application
Voting for highest rated app is done from Titanium Developer. If you don’t have it, download Titanium now. Its available for Mac OSX , Windows and Linux. Click on Titanium’s Apps tab, locate your favorite apps and click on the appropriate star. Five stars is the highest rating; one star is the lowest. Vote carefully: you can only vote for each application once.
Finally, every application, every vote, and every bug report and every piece of feedback warms our hearts. The team at Appcelerator sends all of you a big thank you for showcasing your skills, creativity and Titanium mojo.
As a parting thought, check out this video by Dave Rosenberg of CNET’s Software Interrupted with Jeff and Nolan (to be further known as the banjo brothers):
